Consolation prize for Prague “S”. Sparta and Slavia drop out at the expense of the finalists of European competitions
European Cups and Czech teams, it was always a story about Prague’s “S” teams, which were the only ones contributing to the coefficient. But after the successful decade of Viktoria Plzen and the poor years of Sparta, this trend has changed a lot. In any case, Sparta and Slavia have nothing to be ashamed of in this European season.

Sparta and Slavia can take the fact that they dropped out of the European Cups at the expense of the finalists as a consolation prize. The summer side were not far from progressing in the Europa League’s regular group, but ultimately failed to reach the next stage of the competition via unpopular Rangers FC.
Sparta beat Rangers 1:0 at Letná. Dávid Hancko scored a goal and Glen Kamara received a red card. The rematch at Ibrox Stadium was the decider, Pavel Vrba’s charges lost this match 0:2 after childish defensive mistakes and unfortunately were relegated to the underperforming Conference Europa League.
Spartans said goodbye to the spring part of the European Cup faster than they wanted. In the EKL they fell out with Partizan Belgrade after the results (0::1 and 1::2).
Scottish Rangers, on the other hand, are experiencing an absolutely different story in the spring part of the Europa League. They have successively eliminated Borussia Dortmund, Crvena Zvezda Belgrade, Braga and RB Leipzig.
Kamara and co. will face another German side, Eintracht Frankfurt, in the EL final. The match will be played in Seville, Spain, at the Estadio Ramón Sánchez Pizjuán.
Slavia Prague reached the quarter-finals of the European Conference League, where they faced a strong Feyenoord side. After a good opening game in De Kuip, where they drew 3-3, they are now in the semi-finals. But Slavia (like Sparta and Rangers) were brought down by errors in the back line and Feyenoord won 3-1 in Eden.
The Dutch side subsequently knocked out Marseille in the semi-finals of the Conference Europa League after 3:2 and 0:0 results. Feyenoord Rotterdam will take on Mourinho’s AS Roma in the final, which will be played in Tirana, Albania.
