Conor McGregor has already had surgery, which he had to have due to a nasty tackle in his fight with Dustin Poirier.
It happened at the end of the first round and the winner was Poirier, who beat McGregor for the second time in his career.
The Irish fighter has now sent a message to his fans in which he says that he will be even better when he returns to the octagon.
“Hello fans, this is Conor McGregor. I just came from the operating room. Everything went according to plan. Everything went perfectly. I feel great. I have 6 weeks on crutches now and then I will start working on my comeback,” he said on his Instagram.
“I would like to thank all the fans who send me messages and support me in every way. I would also like to thank all the fans who were on site. The atmosphere was electric. It was a great first round. It would be great if we could get to the second round. But then what happened is what happened. That’s just the way it goes in this sport. A clean break in the tibia,” he added.
“Dustin, you can celebrate this illegitimate win all you want, but you did nothing in the octagon. In the second round, it would all show. Never mind, we’ll rise from the bottom and be better than ever,” he finished.
