The phenomenon of the last few seasons, Connor McDavid, played his 600th NHL regular season game for the Los Angeles Kings and celebrated his team’s victory. Moreover, he already ranks among the best players in history.
McDavid holds a career high of nearly 1.5 points per game
The Los Angeles Kings vs. Edmonton Oilers game ended 2:3. The deciding goal was scored by Edmonton’s Derek Ryan. The Oilers’ captain was able to celebrate the victory in the jubilee game.
McDavid was there for all the important stuff. He had one goal and an assist. With 47 points, he is in seventh place in scoring, 12 points behind Kucherov. So far, he’s scored 13 goals and tallied 34 assists.
In his 600 games played, he has already recorded an incredible 897 points on 316 goals and 581 assists. He holds an almost unreal career average of 1.5 points per game. Taking the highest number of points in 600 games played, the Oilers captain is the fifth player in history to accumulate the most points.
Only legends Wayne Gretzky (1,451 points), Mario Lemieux (1,215), Mike Bossy (921) and Peter Fortune (901) have accumulated more points after playing that many games. In terms of assists after 600 games, he is at 581.
This feat even puts him fourth on the historical charts. Only Wayne Gretzky (925), Mario Lemieux (721) and Bobby Orr (591) have accumulated more. And Connor is still only 26 years old. At the rate he’s going, he’s going to rise very significantly in the historical charts.
The Canadian hockey player has literally dominated the NHL in recent seasons, winning every individual trophy possible. He is undoubtedly the best hockey player on the planet. By the way, he managed to win the league scoring five times already. Three times he was the MVP of the season.
He even ruled all scorers once. Four times he was awarded by the players themselves as the best player of the season. Only team success is still lacking. Yet the Leon Draisatl, Connor McDavid duo has dominated the regular season the last couple of seasons, but it hasn’t led to the desired success in the playoffs so far.
