Plzeň and Slovácko know their opponents for the third round of the Conference Europa League. In case of advancing from the second one, Plzeň will play the winner of the match The New Saints vs. Kaunas Žalgiris and Slovácko will play either Copenhagen or Torpedo Belaz.
First, the championship part was drawn. In it, the most interesting pair is probably Linfield (Northern Ireland) vs. Fola Esch (Luxembourg), of course if both teams advance from the second preliminary round.
In the non-championship part we find Slovácko and Viktoria Plzeň.
Slovácko will face the better of Copenhagen vs. Torpedo Belaz (Belarus) in case of advancement over Lokomotiv Plovdiv. This is the toughest possible choice for Slovácko, as Copenhagen was clearly the best possible opponent of the eight that could have faced the Moravian club.
Viktoria Plzen, on the other hand, was lucky. The lot assigned to it (in case of its advancement over Dinamo Brest) the better of the pair The New Saints vs. Kaunas Žalgiris. Plzeň should clearly beat both of these teams, although the Welsh club has some interesting names in its squad.
There were also three Slovak representatives in the pool. Spartak Trnava would face the better of the Sutjeska vs. Maccabi Tel Aviv pairing if they advance, Zilina would face the winner of the Hajduk Split vs. Kostanay doubleheader, and Dunajská Streda would challenge the better of the Sochi vs. Kesla FK doubleheader.
The opening matches will be played on August 5, with the rematches a week later. The full schedule can be found on the UEFA website.
