Complications for Walk? New champion Teixeira may be out for a long time

Jiří Procházka waits patiently for his opportunity. It was expected that he could fight the champion Glover Teixeira in the first third of next year. But there could be a hitch in that plan.
New UFC welterweight champion Glover Teixeira immediately after his surprise win over Jan Blachowicz said that Jiri Prochazka is next.
He also confidently stated that he would like to rest now, but could be available for another fight in March or April. There’s a catch, though.
The UFC has released the results of the medical exams, according to which things don’t look good for Teixeira. Although Blachowicz did not threaten the Brazilian fighter in any serious way in the fight, he could be facing up to a six-month layoff.
Teixeira has yet to submit to the UFC the results of an MRI on his right shoulder. If the results are in order, the Brazilian will not be allowed to fight for 30 days, with 21 days without a full training load.
But if the shoulder injury proves to be the case, it could be bad news. After all, Teixeira has had problems with his right shoulder since 2014. So the new champion could be out for a long time.
If the black scenario comes true, the UFC could hold a title fight for the interim champion. Logically, Prochazka and his long-time challenger Aleksandar Rakic would face off.
So let’s hope Teixeira is healthy and able to fight as soon as possible.
