He hasn’t even adapted to his new surroundings yet and is already plagued by injuries. David Jurásek certainly did not imagine such a start of his engagement. Now Benfica are bringing in a player from PSG to replace him.

David Jurásek has had a very successful season in the jersey of Slavia. In the Fortuna Liga he played 31 games, scoring two goals and assisting seven more. For a long time there was speculation about where his next steps would lead.

The 23-year-old left-back also made his first national team starts, which certainly increased his market value. In the end, he signed for Benfica, who had to pay fourteen million euros for him.

However, in his second competitive match, the native of Dolní Nemecí suffered an injury that forced him to miss the September national team meeting. In his absence, Fredrik Aursnes will start at left-back.

Even with Benfica playing in the Champions League group stage, where they will play Inter, Real Sociedad and Salzburg, the team management has decided to bring in Juan Bernat from PSG. The information was confirmed by renowned journalist Fabrizio Romano.

It is a one-year loan deal. The 30-year-old Spanish defender has experience to spare, having been at Bayern Munich since the summer of 2014. After a four-year engagement, he moved to PSG.

He was able to acclimatise very well to his new surroundings and started to feature regularly in the starting line-up. He also made starts in the Champions League, but was never able to win it.

It will be very interesting to see how much space Jurásek will get on the pitch after his return from injury. He will have a lot of competition for his position.
