Comparing player values: the Czechs against England a billion cheaper, one player almost as expensive as the whole team
The Czechs will face England in the last round of the Euro group stage. Although numbers never make the difference on the pitch, on paper it’s a clash of two worlds. England have a team worth more than a billion, with captain Harry Kane alone worth as much as almost the entire Czech team combined.
The Czechs will face England in the last round of the Euro group stage. Although numbers never make the difference on the pitch, on paper it’s a clash of two worlds. England have a team worth more than a billion, with captain Harry Kane alone worth as much as almost the entire Czech team combined.
In London, two other dimensions will collide. While the most valuable Czech is Tomas Soucek (40 million euros), according to Transfermarkt, in England’s most valuable starting eleven, everyone except the goalkeeper exceeds that amount.
Transfermarkt has also prepared a comparison of the two teams::
Value of Czech national team players – 186 million euros
Value of English national team players – 1.26 billion euros
The Czechs are thus more than a billion euros cheaper. England are one of the most valuable teams in the tournament, especially the attacking stars are worth astronomical amounts.
There is also the Premier League factor, where players are often overrated. In fact, thanks to the money from TV rights, most clubs have bloated budgets, so the sums for English players are often shot to absurd heights.
England’s most valuable eleven would look like this:
Pickford €22m
James 40m – Maguire 45m – Rice 65m – Saka 65m
Foden 80m – Mount 75m
Sancho 100 m – Rashford 85 m – Sterling 90 m
Kane 120 m
Obviously for some players these are not primary positions, they are the most valuable eleven. This whole eleven is worth €787 million. The most expensive player, Harry Kane (€120m), is slowly reaching the sum of the value of the entire Czech eleven (€146m).
The most valuable Czech eleven::
Vaclik €4m
Coufal 12 m€ – Kalas 4,5 m€ – Zima 7,5 m€ – Kadeřábek 8 m€
Soucek 40 m€ – King 10 m€
Hložek 17 m€ – Barák 14 m€ – Jankto 11 m€
Schick 22 m€
The comparison of the most expensive elevens worked out a bit better for the Czech national team than the comparison of the whole squads.
However, this is only virtual money and it hasn’t decided any match yet. The truth lies on the pitch, where the billion-dollar difference is erased for 90 minutes.
