Comment: the Super League is damn close. Chelsea have made their case with their transfers

Football is becoming just a business for clubs with almost unlimited income. The sporting side of things goes by the wayside and a mere numbers game, marketing and the desire to make money comes into play. However, this trend cannot and will not be followed by other clubs who are literally fighting month after month to survive and stay competitive.
Chelsea’s highest revenue as a football club is more than 586 million euros.
This is the amount The Blues have spent in just one season without any financial Fair Play restrictions.
On the other hand, we have Barcelona with an income of €1.1 billion, which cannot afford to buy players in today’s market.
The Catalan big club manages to steadily generate a profit of over 700 million euros in a season, but because it doesn’t have a billionaire behind it with a magic wand to make its debts disappear and can spend million after million without blinking an eye, hovering around tenth place in the league, it has to struggle mainly with economic problems.
This is why Real Madrid’s Florentino Perez and Joan Laporta want the Super League, because European football is literally forcing them to do so and pushing them to the wall. It’s only a matter of time before fan-owned clubs cease to exist.
The paradox is that Premier League fans have spent all summer complaining about Barcelona’s transfers, the Financial Fair Play rules, but it is the Premier League that is the biggest joke in modern football.
That it is the best football competition cannot be denied, by any means. However, it is financially crushing all competitions and clubs that cannot stand the pressure.
Moreover, the president of La Liga, Javier Tebas, makes it absolutely impossible for any club to break the rules of fair play in La Liga. He is dragging all Spanish clubs down with his demands.
If this situation continues, and there is no indication that it won’t, then it is only a matter of time before clubs stand up to the system. They will launch the planned Super League project which will provide them with much needed revenue.
