Czech club football has dropped to 20th place in the coefficient ranking! Yet to secure 5 European Cup tickets from the 2023/24 season onwards, we need to finish in 15th position.

This is a noticeable drop and visually 5 places is a lot, but the individual countries are literally stuck on each other between 15th and 20th place and more or less every win is decisive. So in the end, the fight is not lost, although it has to be said that losing Slavia in the final minutes to Feyenoord Rotterdam could hurt pretty badly in the final showdown.

The Czech club’s coefficient lost 0.200 points due to this draw, which is currently the amount of points needed to secure us 18th place.

So everything will be decided in the last round of the European Cup’s regular groups. We desperately need a Sparta victory over Danish champions Brøndby IF. Denmark is one of our arch rivals and we need to knock at least one of their representatives out of Europe.

Jablonec will also fight with the Danish team from a distance. The latter will visit Cluj in the last round, if they can win and Randers draw or lose to Alkmaar, it will be the northerners who advance to the spring phase of the EKL.

Slavia has a “simple” task. They must not lose to home side Union in Berlin to qualify for the EKL spring playoffs. Here we would certainly welcome a draw and hope that the Seychellois will grab more points in the spring part of the competition.

Take a look at the current distribution of forces in the coefficient rankings. It’s really even.
