Coefficient after Thursday: The coveted twelve is close, prospects are positive
Czech clubs have not won even once in the opening round of the group stage of the European Cups, but the home coefficient is still good. It is within striking distance of twelfth-placed Norway and has a sufficient lead over fifteenth-placed Ukraine.
Czech clubs have not won once in the opening round of the group stage of the European Cups, but the home coefficient is still good. It is within striking distance of twelfth-placed Norway and has a sufficient lead over fifteenth-placed Ukraine.
The twelfth place, which guarantees direct promotion to the Champions League group, is held by the Norwegians. They have one representative in both the Europa League and the European Conference League. They currently have 27.25 points and divide their points by four.
Thirteenth place belongs to the Czech Republic, who have held on to thirteenth place thanks to two draws. They are 0.2 points behind the Norwegians, which is just one draw. If Slavia gets going, twelfth place could soon be in our hands.
But we need to look beyond ourselves to where other countries feel the opportunity. The Swiss holding fourteenth place have Zurich (EL) and Basel (EKL) in their groups. They also divide their points by four and are only 0.125 points behind the Czechs.
The Ukrainians are in a slump after last year’s unsuccessful season. From the fifteenth place, they are 0.95 points behind the Czechs, which is two wins and one draw when divided by five. In any case, the top 15 guarantees the runner-up Champions League qualification.
Sixteenth-placed Croats and seventeenth-placed Greeks do not pose any real danger. The Croats have only Dinamo Zagreb in the Champions League, the Greeks only Olympiakos Piraeus in the Europa League. Both are separated by four.
On the other hand, the Danes and the Turks are worth mentioning. The Danes have three participants in the groups and are 2.625 points behind the Czechs (six wins, one draw, divided by five), the Turks are 3.5 points behind (eight wins, one draw, divided by five).
