Czech clubs recorded two wins and one draw in the first qualifying matches of the season to bring the Czech coefficient closer to the TOP 15, which guarantees five places in Europe. How are the table neighbours doing?

The Czech Republic’s main goal is to finish the season in the top 15, but there is also a realistic chance of finishing in the TOP 12, which guarantees the champion’s promotion directly to the Champions League group.

Ukraine are just 0.025 points behind the Norwegians, the Swiss 0.450 points behind and 15th-placed Greece 0.650 points behind. While Ukraine sent five teams to the qualifiers, Switzerland and Greece sent only four. Neither of their teams have dropped out yet.

Sixteenth place belongs to the Czechs. They are 0.500 points behind the top 15, which is two wins for four places in Europe. TOP 12 is 1,250 points away. That’s exactly five wins, which with the draw of Plzen and Sparta could come very soon.

But it is necessary to look beyond ourselves. The Croatians are only 0.550 points behind and divide their points by four. The Danes, on the other hand, are down a bit, losing 0.625 points, while Copenhagen, on the other hand, have already secured at least the Conference League group and four other teams are in play.

The Turks and the Cypriots are still thinking about the top 15. Both have five teams in the qualifiers and their champion has a certain Conference League group. Turkey is 2.225 points behind the Czech Republic, which is quite a lot when the five are divided. Cyprus is even 2,200 points behind.

The bread is usually broken in the preliminary rounds, which Czech clubs have not been able to handle in recent years. The first key point will come next Thursday, when Sparta must knock out Viking. Not only because of the promotion, but also because of the fact that the Norwegians have already overtaken the Czechs in the coefficient.
