Coach was right! If I were him, I’d say the same thing, Pastrnak said after Boston’s progress
David Pastrnak was criticized after Game 6 of the series. Even his own coach, Jim Montgomery, leaned on him. And Pastrnak? He delivered! The seventh and deciding game went to overtime at 1-1 and after just two minutes David passed the puck to teammate Hampus Lindholm, started his engines and fired into the offensive zone, where he expected the puck to be fed. He dribbled away from everyone, worked it in front of the goalie, and with a quick skate, he decided that Boston would advance to the next round!

Criticism of Pastrnak
Immediately after Game 7, the words of Coach Montogmery came to the fore, criticizing him after Game 6.
“Jim (Montogmery) said something. Honestly, I told him that if I were in his position, I would say the same thing. I had no problem with it at all. He’s trying to get the best out of everybody.
He’s right that I need to play better. And I played better today. I still have to look at the video, but I think we played more in our offensive zone than we did on defense. I liked the way our line played today and I believe we can do even better,” Pastrňák told the NHL.
Boston was in trouble
Boston was far from done for the season. The score was tied 0:0 until midway through the third period when a puck in the offensive zone went from Auston Matthews to William Nylander, who managed to hit the empty net. But the Bruins tied the game two minutes later when Hampus Lindholm sent the puck into the top left corner after a scramble in front of the net.
Then, in the second minute of overtime, Pastrňák sprinted into the offensive zone, Lindholm sent a nifty pass against the boards and the star forward beat Samsonov with a backhand bluff. The TD Garden erupted in euphoria and celebrated the promotion.
In the next round, the Czech team will face the Florida Panthers in Boston, the team the Bruins lost to after seven games last season. Will they get revenge this year? Leafs forward David Kämpf, whose season ended with this loss, could strengthen the Czech national team at the World Championship.
