Czech women’s football is currently in hibernation. It should return in March, when the twelfth round is scheduled. Sparta is currently leading the top competition.

The latter drew unluckily with Slavia and then with Dukla, a result that surprised many, as the Prague S lose only among themselves and take most of the points elsewhere.

However, the autumn offered an even more interesting result when Slavia fell after many years, in Liberec. In the last match of the autumn, they helped Sparta to the leading position.

“If I were to say that I am satisfied, then today we would have to lead the league by six points and play the Champions League group… There were certainly good moments in the first half of the season when I was pleased with our performance, but of course there were also moments when the team did not show quality and made unnecessary mistakes that cost us important points.

And maybe also the impression of a successful autumn… But if there’s one thing I rate positively, it’s our players and the work of the management team. We all made some mistakes, which I believe we will learn from.

And I believe that we will manage the spring as we all imagine,” said Sparta women’s coach Jan Masaryk in an interview for the club website. He has the advantage that Sparta’s reserve team plays in the second league, so he has a larger selection of players.

Nevertheless, he plans to strengthen and then train hard to taste the sweet taste of the title again. “Like every modern coach, I have been following the trends at the World Championship. There are always certain elements that catch my eye. I want the team I coach to always have an offensive and modern game.

Every day in the training process we work on the attributes that limit our game expression. So in the winter preparation period we will also work on all the factors that we think are important for us to improve, ” he added.
