Clarkson directed Utah’s victory
In the game Utah Jazz vs Dallas Mavericks (127:90) the biggest star of the home team was basketball player Jordan Clackson, who scored a prized triple-double for 20 points, 11 successful rebounds and also produced 10 accurate passes for his teammates. Interestingly, he was not in the Jazz’s starting five.
The Dallas team looked a bit clueless throughout the game and it didn’t go well for Mavericks star Luka Doncic, who broke his impressive streak of games with at least 30 points in a game. This time he was stuck on just 19 points.
For Clarkson himself, it was a premiere feat, as he has never managed to reach double digits in three stats in his career so far. And for the Utah Jazz, it was even the first time since 2008 that a basketball player from this club reached a triple-double.
The last person to accomplish that feat in a Jazz jersey was Carlos Boozer on February 13, 2008, so it took a full 1,256 games before any other Jazz player recorded a triple-double. In addition, for the first time in more than 40 years, a bench player scored a triple-double for the Jazz. The last time Mark Eaton accomplished this feat was in 1983.
Adetokunbo didn’t do it all by himself
In the Milwaukee vs. Indiana Pacers (113:122), the huge Greek Janis Adetokunbo was not enough to do it all by himself this time. Like Clarkson, he also scored a prized triple-double with even higher values. In points he attacked the 40-point mark. He also successfully rebounded 18 balls and sent 11 accurate passes to his teammates.
However, on the other side he was up against the recently excellent Tyrese Haliburton, who also missed a triple-double by one rebound. He had 26 points and 11 assists in the game. Recently, he managed to score at least 20 points and 20 assists in two straight games. Such a performance was last recorded by the legendary Magic Johnson, for example.
Julius Randle scorer of the day
In the New York Knicks vs. Minnesota Timberwolves (112:106), the home team’s star Julius Randle shone with 39 points and 9 rebounds. Interestingly, he did not produce a single pass for his teammates during the whole game.
