Chilling moment. Christian Eriksen collapsed, had to be resuscitated on the pitch and is now fighting for his life
There are times when football and competition go completely by the wayside. And that’s when it’s literally a matter of life. Christian Eriksen collapsed in Denmark’s match against Finland and had to be resuscitated on the pitch.
There are times when football and competition go completely by the wayside. And that’s when it’s literally a matter of life. Christian Eriksen collapsed in Denmark’s match against Finland and had to be resuscitated on the pitch.
Just before half-time in the third match of this year’s European Championship between Denmark and Finland, Christian Eriksen was running for the ball when suddenly his body went completely out of control and he slumped to the ground.
The moment, which sent shivers down his spine, was made worse by the following images. Open eyes, absent expression, shocked teammates.
Eriksen had to be resuscitated, and a CPR was performed. The players logically created a screen to give the paramedics a break, but their shock was enormous.
The Danish footballer was subsequently taken away by paramedics, but the outcome is not yet known.
This leaves all the people around the world with no choice but to pray that Eriksen wakes up. Everything else is irrelevant at this point.
