Petr Mrazek again the star of the game
The Chicago Blackhawks vs. San Jose Sharks (2:1) played a full 65 minutes. The duel was decided by a shootout, where Boris Katchouk scored the decisive goal, giving Chicago an extra point. Petr Mrazek was once again the difference maker for the Blackhawks in the home game.
He caught 37 shots and only one found its way behind his back. His save percentage was over 97 percent and he was rightfully named the game’s biggest star.
Edmonton wins its 11th straight game
In Edmonton Oilers vs. Toronto Maple Leafs (4:2), the Oilers turned around a 0:2 game with four goals in 23 minutes. They won their 11th game in a row, further pushing the club record. The record was already broken in the last match. Even the golden team from the 80s, who literally rocked the league, did not achieve such a streak.
The game didn’t go well for Edmonton as they were down by two goals in the 31st minute. Both times, the league’s leading scorer Auston Matthews was involved. However, Leon Draisatl was able to tie the game by the end of the second period.
And the third period was Edmonton’s affair. First, Derek Ryan tied the game, and then Ryan McLeod and Evan Bouchard scored late in the game to seal the win for the home team with a shot into an empty Maple Leafs cage.
In addition, Connor McDavid also scored again in this game, recording one assist and extending his point streak to 11 games, in which he recorded 17 points on 5 goals and 12 assists. On the other hand, American Matthews scored his 18th goal in the last 18 games.
