Fans are used to seeing Chelsea at the top of the English Premier League for many seasons. But that is not the case this season. Chelsea are in 11th place and are further away from the title than the relegation places.
The team has undergone a massive rebuilding of the squad and it shows in the results. Chelsea is full of promising players. However, the fans are angry with owner Tedd Boehly and his management of the club. They are simply not getting used to these positions.
In addition, they are upset by new information that Chelsea is being forced to sell some of its players to meet the Premier League’s financial fair play. Which players should be affected?
Chelsea and financial fair play
Blues are planning to “get rid” of two England players, captain Reece James and Connor Gallagher. Both have been through the club’s youth academy.
According to The Times, Chelsea are in real danger of following Everton and Nottingham Forest in the Premier League’s profitability and sustainability rules and being stripped of points.
This is something Chelsea will therefore try to avoid with this sale and plans to make more than £100 million, preventing it from exceeding the £105 million limit on allowable losses over a three-year period.
There are likely to be many more changes at the club this summer. There is also speculation about the end of coach Mauricio Pochettino. But even that would cost the club several millions as it would have to buy him out of his contract.
