Check out Vladimir Coufal’s own goal. It was his first ‘treble’ in the Premier League
Vladimír Coufal experienced a horror against Manchester City, which no footballer wants to experience, but it can happen to anyone. In the penultimate round of the English Premier League, West Ham had a sensational victory over the leading team in the competition. The Hammers were leading 2-0 at half-time, but the favourite eventually came back and almost turned the game around!
The two goals for West Ham were scored by the sensational Jarrod Bowen. The second goal by the skilful Englishman was also signed by Tomas Soucek, who extended a long ball with his head.
Tomáš Souček played his standard and was one of West Ham’s important players, compared to him the match was absolutely not going well for Vladimír Coufal. The right-back has always given steady and entertaining performances whether West Ham were losing or winning, but the game against Manchester City didn’t go his way at all.
the 29-year-old defender was given the lowest ever mark of any player on the pitch (5.41) by the prestigious WhoScored. He had 26 touches of the ball during the game and his passing success rate was only 25%.
Coufal also committed two fouls and received a yellow card. An unwanted own goal put the crown on a poor performance, which meant a 2-2 draw in the 69th minute.
City could have turned the game around late on, but Polish goalkeeper Lukasz Fabiański didn’t let Vladimir Coufal down, brilliantly defusing Riyad Mahrez’s penalty in the 86th minute.
Check out all the highlights of the game, including Coufal’s own goal.
The sad fact is that Coufal’s first ever Premier League goal came in his own net. Let’s hope that in the near future, the Czech international will also unravel the nets of his opponents.
