Not only did Sparta lose 0:2 to Monaco in the third round of the Champions League, but their fans also caused them a huge problem. When Aurélien Tchouaméni scored the first goal and provoked in front of the home team’s goal, he heard some unpleasant noises.

The TV footage from Tuesday night was probably seen by everyone. The visitors’ midfielder Tchouaméni scored a headed goal after a corner kick in front of Sparta’s boiler to make it 1:0 and celebrated his goal with his arms outstretched in front of the home team’s sector.

Subsequently, however, the Monaco players ran to complain to the referee, it was not difficult to deduce that they would complain of racism.

Although some fans denied it, while others claimed he deserved it for his heckling, Monaco’s official account came up with the proof. On his Twitter account, he posted a video directly from the incriminating moment under the Sparta cauldron.

And yes, in the video you can indeed hear the monkey screams of several individuals who definitely cannot consider themselves Sparta fans. Their behaviour only harms their club and causes it great inconvenience.

According to several Sparta fans, Tchouaméni should have shouted towards the Sparta cauldron “fu*k off,” which is not heard in the video. It only shows the French midfielder running with his tongue out and his arms outstretched, looking towards the boiler.

Of course, this is unnecessary provocation, which Tchouaméni should have forgiven himself. No cauldron is going to applaud an opposing player celebrating his goal a few yards in front of them. Of course, the Leten fans should have resorted only to booing and ordinary swearing, not to monkey shouts and racist abuse.

In this day and age, when racism is considered by UEFA to be the worst offence and fought vehemently against, the behaviour of certain individuals is completely incomprehensible.

For several months footballers have had to play in front of empty stadiums and when fans get the opportunity to go to a whole group of European Cups, they may well be deprived of it by their stupidity.

Of course, it has to be said that this is not about the whole stadium, this act is only the fault of a few unintelligent individuals. Unfortunately, the decent fans in the main stand who are not to blame will also pay the price.
