Changes in the national team: due to injuries of Krejci and Jemelka, Kúdela is nominated
Jaroslav Šilhavý has already had several absences and more are coming. Midfielder Ladislav Krejčí was injured in the opening game against Switzerland, Václav Jemelka is also having problems, so the experienced Ondřej Kúdela will join the national team.
Jaroslav Šilhavý has already had several absences and more are coming. Midfielder Ladislav Krejčí was injured in the opening game against Switzerland, Václav Jemelka is also having problems, so the experienced Ondřej Kúdela will join the national team.
Šilhavý already had to cut 13 players who are stable members of the national team. Among them are such mainstays as Patrik Schick, Antonín Barák and Tomáš Holeš.
Ladislav Krejčí, for example, made it into the starting line-up and was placed in the midfield. However, he will probably not play the duels against Spain and Portugal anymore, as he was injured against Switzerland. The extent of the injury is not yet known, but Krejci was limping and holding his knee, which is not good news.
With Václav Jemelka also having health problems, Šilhavy has to respond. So he called up the experienced Ondrej Kudel to the national team, who on the other hand returned in the spring after a long injury.
The Slavic stopper will be able to play on Sunday against Spain in Eden and then on 9 June in Portugal and on 12 June in Spain.
The Czech Republic’s realisation team opted for a three-stopper formation against Switzerland and will probably resort to the same formation against Spain and Portugal.
Zim and Brabec will be joined by Kúdela, while Šilhavy has already had to cut Tomáš Petrášek, Václav Jemelka and Ladislav Krejčí for one national team game. Jaroslav Zelený can also play at stopper, but he started at left halfback on Thursday.
