On Thursday 31 August at 18:00, the Champions League group stage draw kicked off. It should be noted, this is the last year of the Champions League where we will see the traditional four groupings. From next year’s edition, UEFA has opted for a new variant where each team will play 10 matches.
In any case, as far as the draw itself is concerned, the most difficult group, or rather the group of death, was the “efko”.
Paris Saint-Germain, Borussia Dortmund, AC Milan and Newcastle United will play each other. Who among this group of European powerhouses will make it to the eighth round? That is the question that will spark heated debates over the next few hours.
FC Copenhagen, the team that knocked out Sparta Prague in the preliminary round, is in Group A along with Bayern Munich, Manchester United and Galatasaray.
You can see the full form of the group draw in the attached twitter post below.
The first group matches are not scheduled until mid-September, specifically on the 19th and 20th. The schedule of duels will be announced on Saturday.
The 2023/24 Champions League final will then be played on 1 June next year, in London at the legendary Wembley Stadium.
