UFC champion Jiri Prochazka amazes the world with his meditation techniques
The fact that UFC champion Jiri Procházka is a unique phenomenon among MMA fighters probably doesn’t need to be mentioned. He never ceases to amaze fans and renowned experts not only with his fighting skills.
Especially thanks to his mental setup and specific personality, he wins a huge fan base. It is no secret that it is his solid mind built on samurai foundations that gives him the necessary advantage over his opponents.
Recently, he was the guest of world-renowned journalist Ariel Helwani, where the champion revealed detailed information about his meditation techniques. In particular, his stay in the dark made a huge impression on the charismatic journalist.
In an interview with Ariel Helwani, he describes his time in the dark
“It was 3 days in total darkness, you can work with your demons and train whatever you want,” Procházka explained on The MMA Hour podcast. “It’s therapy, it’s just you there and nobody else, just you with yourself,” he described the meditation in the dark.
“I went three days without food, I drank only water, the experience is stronger without food,” he revealed. “All the processes in your body are much stronger, your mind is working a lot and you have to sort of die there,” he described his experience.
“It’s not about the length of the meditation, but rather the flow of the meditation, ” he said in response to Helwani’s question about the length of his meditations. “The basis of any meditation, whether it is morning or evening, is calmness, both in the mind and in the struggle,” he added.
Whether these techniques will help the Moravian warrior in the fight itself remains to be seen. His title rematch with Brazilian Teixeira is already official and on December 10 in Las Vegas, another riddle of Prochazka’s journey across the martial arts world will be solved.
