Carragher: PSG have no chance in LM! The reason? Messi, Mbappé, Neymar

Legendary English Liverpool defender Jamie Carragher believes PSG have no chance of success in the Champions League because of the approach of the attacking trio.
After Tuesday’s Champions League match pitting Manchester City and PSG against each other, debate has raged over whether the French giant have a chance to succeed in the competition and reach as far as the winners’ trophy. Jamie Carragher, sitting in the studio with another legendary player, Thierry Henry, believes not.
According to him, the approach of the trio Messi, Mbappé and Neymar to defending is so lazy that the team has no chance against stronger teams. Carragher has even called the attacking trio passengers who are figuratively just along for the ride when defending and don’t put even a partial hand to the job.
“I am convinced that at this stage of the Champions League, no club can afford to have passengers in their ranks who are just along for the ride,” Golazo said at the start of his debate at the CBS Sports studio.
“Look at the top four teams in my opinion – Manchester City, Chelsea, Liverpool and Bayern. Not one of those teams has a single player who is carrying. PSG have three of them in their ranks. In the Champions League there is no chance!” he says with conviction.
“Watching a trio of strikers march around the pitch while their team is defending the opposition’s attacks is frustrating for me. When I compare Mbappé’s defensive attempts with Mané, Lewandowski or Sterling, he comes out very badly. He‘s 22, he should be sprinting back and helping his teammates!” despairs the Reds‘ renowned fighter.
Carragher also stressed the teamwork that wins games. He expressed the idea that it doesn’t matter how good you are in attack, but if you don’t play as a team at all moments of the game and leave your midfielders and defenders defending with seven men instead of ten, you have no chance of success.
Do you agree with him? The attached photos may help you. They clearly show that the non-returning Neymar and Messi repeatedly create space on their respective sides of the pitch for PSG to outnumber them. On those two occasions, the action ended in goals being scored by the French side.
