Carragher: I’m sure Manchester City will beat Real Madrid and go to the final

A very shaky rematch awaits us in the Champions League semi-finals. Real Madrid will once again take on Manchester City, who last year had promotion in their grasp, but the last two minutes cost them progression. Jamie Carragher, as usual, favours the English side.
Jamie Carragher doesn’t like Real Madrid very much. Or at least he has no confidence in it and no awareness of how strong the Royal club is in the Champions League.
He first said in the quarter-finals last season that Chelsea would advance because he thought they were the stronger team. Real Madrid were promoted. In the semi-final, he let it be known that Real Madrid had no chance of progressing past Manchester City. Real Madrid are through.
In the final, however, it is understandable, he declared that Liverpool would clearly win. Real Madrid won. In the end, he let it be known that Los Blancos had been very lucky throughout the competition.
In this year’s eight-final they again came up against Liverpool and once again Carragher had great confidence in his team. In the end, he was left with nothing but tears after the 2-6 aggregate scoreline.
But that Carragher is a typical Englishman who believes that the Premier League and the English league is above everything and everyone, shows again before the semi-final.
“I am absolutely confident that Manchester City will beat Real Madrid and reach the final,” Carragher told Sky Sports.
Yes, the Citizens look really strong and may be the biggest favourites. But last year sufficiently punished all the doubters about Real Madrid and its strength in the Champions League.
But for Real Madrid fans, this is actually good news. In all the games in which Carragher didn’t believe in them, they advanced. Maybe history will repeat itself.
