Card-carrying players? Players got the information, everyone knows, says Coach Chytrý
The Czech national football team will play its last qualifying match for the World Cup today. Other results have not been too favourable for our selection, so the chances of qualifying for the barrier are already quite low. Even so, we need to play the match responsibly, and for some players without yellow cards.
The Czech national football team will play its last qualifying match for the World Cup today. Other results have not been too favourable for our selection, so the chances of qualifying for the barrier are already quite low. Even so, we need to play the match responsibly, and for some players without yellow cards. What did the coach Jiří Chytrý, who will also replace Jaroslav Šilhavy as the head coach against Estonia, say before the match?
Against Estonia, the Czech team will try to fight for a place in the World Cup barrage. But there are so many aspects that it is almost unrealistic, for example the Czechs would have to win by six goals.
Even so, the clash with Estonia is quite important, especially because of several players at risk of being carded. These are Tomas Soucek, David Zima and Michal Sadilek.
Fans were therefore worried that something similar to the Euro’s would happen, when no one on the coaching staff knew that another yellow card for Boril meant that he would not be able to play in the eighth round.
“The players were told who was at risk. Everyone involved knows it, of course we discussed it,” coach Jiří Chytrý explained the situation at a press conference.
What did he say about the March barrage, in which a strong opponent will surely jump against the Czech Republic? “Mainly I would like to say that the goal going into the qualification was to try to qualify for the barrage. Playing for the first place in the group was more our wish, we wanted to at least secure our participation in the barrage, and we did it.
That we would face tough opponents in the spring qualifiers was a given beforehand. I believe we are able to prepare for the outdoor environment and make it through,” he added.
