Canada struggles with Denmark, but takes three points in the end! Two goals from the talented Bedard helped the win

Canada notched its second win at the World Cup and once again failed to put in a convincing performance. The talented Bedard scored twice in the Danish net and Canada won 5:1. However, it is customary to treat the group more like a training session before the important playoffs.

Canada went into the game with Denmark as a big favourite. In the opening game against Great Britain, they did not convince too much, but the players took the game more as a warm-up and secured a 4:2 win.

Denmark, on the other hand, convincingly went on to win 5: 1 against Denmark and took an important step towards salvation. And they didn’t play badly against Canada either, even though they didn’t get a point.

The first big chance came in the 3rd minute of the game when Connor Bedard fired from distance and the goalie couldn’t reach the puck. The referees didn’t immediately give the goal, but eventually noticed that Michael Bunting was pushed into the crease, so Canada took the lead.

In the 12th minute Andrew Mangiapane hit the crossbar with his shot and we had to wait 4 minutes for the second goal when Dylan Cozens placed his shot from the blue line.

In the second period, the game was fairly evenly played, with the giant goaltenders excelling. But the Canadian one finally cashed in when Christian Wejse managed to get the puck behind his back after a series of shots.

Bedard could have sent Canada into a two-goal lead, but instead of passing to a free teammate, he chose to shoot and couldn’t get a precise shot off. Denmark went into the third period with hopes of scoring.

However, early in the third period, Canada essentially decided the game. Bedard traded the puck with a teammate and then set up his stick to score his fourth goal of the tournament.

Denmark tried to do something else with the game and called off the goalie. Instead of succeeding, they scored twice more into the empty net and left the ice with a 1:5 defeat.
