Napoli travel to Cagliari on Monday. Motivation is high, because if they win they will be within a point of first place AC Milan. The home side can get out of the relegation zone. What to expect from the game and what to bet on?
Cagliari have been on a roll, gaining eight points in the last five rounds, even beating Atalanta two weeks ago, yet they are still in 18th place. They are one point behind the non-relegation seventeenth position.
Napoli are still in touch with the top of the competition, having won four of their last five games and drawing at Camp Nou in the Europa League this week. From third place in the table, they are three points behind first-placed AC Milan with a game to spare.
The home side are kept in the relegation battle by João Pedro, the Brazilian striker has made ten league appearances and assisted four times. Central midfielder and Romanian international Razvan Marin has four assists.
In the Naples jersey, the top scorer in the club’s history, Llorenzo Insigne, scored six goals and assisted twice. It was the Nigerian international Victor Osimhen who had his fingers in even nine goals in Serie A (6+3).
Cagliari has worked on its defensive work, getting only one goal each time in the last five games, which is why it has finally started to pick up points on a regular basis.
Goal throws are not expected, also due to the fact that Napoli have the most solid defense ever. It has received only seventeen goals, the second best team (Inter) has scored twenty-two times.
Considering Napoli’s excellent defensive performance, I think Naples will win and score at least two goals at the same time.
