The English Premier League season ended on Sunday, with relegated Norwich and Watford joined by Burnley after losing to Newcastle. Which players from the aforementioned trio will be hot commodities for Premier League teams?
Burnley
Burnley leave the league after six years during which it was mainly graced by a reliable defensive performance. There will undoubtedly be interest in England international goalkeeper Nick Pope, he could be a good fit for Southampton or Crystal Palace, for example.
Championship quality is also outgrown by stoppers Ben Mee and James Tarkowski, quite possibly Nathan Collins. Offensively, wingers Dwight McNeil and Maxwel Cornet are worth mentioning, as well as spike striker Wout Weghorst.
Watford
Watford have the best quality squad of the relegated trio. They undoubtedly have Emmanuel Dennis and Ismaila Sarr for the Premier League, not for nothing the first mentioned is being watched by West Ham and the second even by Liverpool.
There will be interest in young Brazilian striker Joao Pedro. Winter signing from Rennes Hasane Kamara caught on quickly, he was even named Watford’s player of the season. The left back would be a good fit for Leeds or Brighton.
Norwich City
Norwich have had a disastrous season, flying back to the Championship after last year’s sovereign promotion. It’s hard to single anyone out. At thirty-two, Teemu Pukki is too old for a transfer and is happy at the Cannaries.
Max Aarons, a speedy right back, has also been performing well. The hole on the right side of the defence has Brentford, Leeds or Bournemouth celebrating promotion from the Championship.
