Burnley vs. Brentford: Preview and betting tips
Burnley have an important game against Brentford on Saturday. If it wants to think about salvation, it should finally start scoring regularly, but it is far from easy to win against the upstart newcomer.
Burnley have an important game against Brentford on Saturday. If it wants to think about salvation, it should finally start scoring regularly, but it is far from easy to win against the upstart newcomer.
Burnley, like last year, have failed to make the first quarter of the season. After nine rounds it is only eighteenth and three points behind the relegation places. They are one of only three teams not to have won once.
Brentford, on the other hand, can’t complain after being promoted. It has twelve points, having managed to turn Arsenal or Liverpool. Moreover, from twelfth place, it is only two points behind seventh-placed Manchester United.
Burnley are relying on summer signing Maxwell Cornet, who has already scored three times in the league. There is no other goal scorer with at least one Premier League goal in the team, star Dwight McNeill is struggling so far.
Last season’s top scorer Ivan Toney has scored two goals and assisted twice in the Premier League so far. Super-goalkeeper Yoane Wissa has scored twice while playing just 57 minutes in the Premier League.
Burnley have struggled in attack, failing to score in three of their last four games.
That plays into the hands of the visitors, who have not kept a clean sheet in five games.
Given Burnley’s poor form, I think Brentford will leave Turf Moor with at least a point. Specifically, I recommend betting on a riskier non-loss, with the understanding that if the game ends in a draw, you will get your stake back.
