Viktoria Plzeň managed to win a very important match against Sheriff Tiraspol, turning around an unfavourable result to 2:1. The decisive goal was scored by Pavel Bucha, who would like to improve his productivity.
The match was very cautious at the beginning, both teams tried to wait for the opponent’s mistake. However, in the 36th minute a cold shower came for the visitors when Rasheed Akanbi converted a penalty.
Fortunately for Plzeň, the referee offered a penalty kick to Viktoria four minutes later. The penalty was taken by striker Tomáš Chorý and safely converted.
Strengthened by the equalizer, Viktoria entered the second half with a great desire to score the winning goal, and they did so after only ten minutes.
Pavel Bucha found the deflected ball on the small white space, fearlessly flew into it and scored with his head. After that, Plzeň took the match into their own hands and took home a promising 2-1 result.
“It was a very hard match, physically and mentally. After we played an even match with Sheriff, a penalty kick put them on the back foot a bit. It was important that we reacted quickly and got back into the game. It‘s an awfully valuable win, even like that after the turnaround,” Bucha told the club’s website.
In doing so, he is a bit of a holiday scorer. the 24-year-old midfielder only racked up 3 goals and 3 assists last season, now he’s hitting the brink. And he’d like to build on that.
“I’m very happy with the goal. Last season I wasn’t much of a goalscorer, so I want to improve my productivity. Hopefully, I’ll continue to get there,” believes the running midfielder.
