Brito moved up in the world rankings after winning the title! He’s catching up with a UFC legend. Kozma dropped out of the world 100 for a change
OKTAGON 37 offered an incredible spectacle, the biggest domestic organization has two new champions. One of them, namely Kaik Brito, has skyrocketed in the world rankings. On the other hand, his opponent David Kozma has dropped out of the top 100.
OKTAGON 37 offered an incredible spectacle, the biggest domestic organization has two new champions. One of them, namely Kaik Brito, has skyrocketed in the world rankings. On the other hand, his opponent David Kozma has dropped out of the top 100.
David Kozma has his sixth title defense under his belt. After miraculous performances against Leandro Silva, Bojan Velickovic and Peter Knezhet, he did not add another win. He couldn’t find a recipe for the Brazilian Kaiko Brito.
Brito is one of the “silent waters”, but he can be lethal when he is in the cage. He showed that against Kozma, sending him down five times in the fight and putting on a one-sided show.
It is interesting, then, how the Kozma-Brit fight has shuffled both fighters’ rankings within the world rankings on the respected Fight Matrix site.
Kozma drops out of the top 100, Brito chases UFC legend
David Kozma went into the fight as the world’s 77th ranked welterweight, while Kaik Brito was ranked 167th before the fight. But given the outcome of the fight, the positions were more or less swapped.
While the home fighter dropped out of the top 100 and fell to 121st place, the Brazilian champion soared to a beautiful 84th position.
This puts Brito in rather interesting, and one might even say luxurious, company, with the legendary Robbie Lawler only seven places ahead of him. Besides that, there are several other UFC fighters around him.
