Brisbane vs. Melbourne City: preview and betting tips
A day before the Czech national football team’s World Cup barrage in Qatar, only the top Australian league will offer a poor schedule, as leaders Melbourne City travel to penultimate Brisbane.
Brisbane have picked themselves up in March, winning the last two rounds. As a result, it has climbed off the bottom of the table and currently has a four-point lead over last-placed Perth. In addition, there are still six rounds left in the season.
Melbourne City has a much better start to the season. They lead the Australian league by one point over second-placed Western United, but have two games in hand. Melbourne have only won once in the last four rounds.
Nikola Mileusnic is the mainstay of the home team, the winger with a past at Danish Randers has made five league appearances. The talented twenty-two-year-old Indian international Henry Hore then netted three goals.
The experienced Florin Bérenguer shines in the centre of the visiting midfield, scoring five times and assisting three more. It is Australian international Jamie Maclaren who is the league’s top scorer with twelve goals, he also has two assists.
Brisbane has worked on its attack, scoring seven goals in the last three rounds, having scored only eleven times in the previous twelve games.
Melbourne has the league’s best offense, scoring thirty-nine goals already, on the other hand, only Adelaide United has scored more goals from the top six of the table.
Considering that Melbourne is undefeated on the opponents’ fields for nine games, I think they will win this time too.
