Brighton vs. Tottenham: Preview and betting tips
Tottenham are away to Brighton on Wednesday in the round of 16 of the Premier League. Antonio Conte’s charges take nothing but a win, especially when the opponent is under the results blanket.
Tottenham are away to Brighton on Wednesday in the sixteenth round of the Premier League. Antonio Conte’s charges take nothing but a win, especially when the opponent is under the results blanket.
Brighton are currently benefiting from a good first half of the season, having lost the last five rounds and dropped to thirteenth place in the table. European Cups will no longer be out of the question, but the Seagulls at least have a comfortable eleven point lead on the relegation places.
Tottenham’s form has been on a roll, although with the arrival of Antonio Conte, performances and results are trending slightly upwards. From eighth place, they are only five points behind fifth-placed Manchester United, and theoretically could make the Champions League.
French striker Neal Maupay is the mainstay of the home side, scoring eight times and assisting twice in the Premier League. It is hard to imagine Brighton’s midfield without Yves Bissouma, with Liverpool, for example, pursuing him for nothing.
Since January we have been seeing good old Harry Kane on the pitch, the English spearhead striker has eleven goals and three assists. Korea’s Heung Min Son is even better, with seventeen goals (11+7).
Brighton’s defensive performance has stopped, with the Seagulls conceding at least twice in six of their last seven games.
This plays into the hands of Spurs, who on the other hand have scored fourteen goals in their last five league games.
Given Spurs’ good performance against Manchester and Kane’s shooting form, I think Tottenham will win.
