Brentford, after a good start to the season, has fallen into the average and is gradually slipping closer and closer to the relegation zone. Still, the first league newcomer can remain calm for now, with a seven-point lead on the relegation places.
Watford are entertaining with their performances. A lot of goals have been scored in its games, the Hornets have given five to Everton or four to Manchester United this season. On the other hand, they lose a lot against the outsiders and that is why they have only a three-point cushion on eighteenth-placed Burnley.
Brentford are also pulling for promotion to the elite Ivan Toney, the top scorer of last season’s EFL Championship has made four appearances in the Premier League so far. Spanish all-rounder Sergi Canos boasts a 2+2 record.
Among the competition’s top players, Emmanuel Dennis is surprisingly rampant, the Bruges reinforcement has hit six times, adding five assists. Long-time mainstay Ismaila Sarr has enjoyed scoring five times.
Brentford, with nineteen goals scored, are by no means one of the worst shooting teams, but have run out of steam in recent weeks. In only two of the last six games has he scored at least two goals.
Watford have one more shot overall, but on the other hand they have the third worst defensive record (29 goals conceded). In their last three away games, they have scored a total of seven goals.
