Brendan Rodgers wants to strengthen Leicester City’s roster

Leicester are on a rollercoaster ride in the Premier League this season. Experienced coach Brendan Rodgers is trying to change the disposition of the team and is constantly looking for new solutions. With the arrival of January, the possibility of new reinforcements naturally presents itself.

The situation changes every year. Last season, for example, Newcastle were in the last rungs of the competition. No one expected them to be facing a battle for second place with Manchester City this Christmas.

In short, nothing pleasant for Brendan Rodgers. The former underdog has moved miles ahead, while his squad has stagnated to date and is certainly not radiating positivity.

On top of that, a league game against Liverpool awaits today. Against the club he was at before his Leicester engagement.

After the game against Newcastle (0:3 loss) everything looked hopeless. Already before the championship in Qatar there was a question whether the English coach should stay with the team or look for a new employer. Nevertheless, the management continues to trust him.

“It’s about rebooting confidence. Knowing that the biggest thing you have to have in the Premier League is the attitude and the desire to win games. Then talent comes out of that,” Rodgers said.

“I think the players know that and we’ve got a really good group of honest footballers who have been so disappointed. Especially after the way we’ve put so much into it. We have an opportunity to beat a big challenge in the next game,” added the Foxes coach.

Besides the positive mood, the winter transfer period is the main solution. Rodgers is already clear. He needs reinforcements in his lineup at wing forward, left wing and main defender.

However, the financial situation does not make the further economic plans of the English team easy. Already this summer only one reinforcement came in the form of Wesley Fofana, for which the management even had to borrow from an Australian bank.

All in all, the transfer was pulled to the figure of 75 million pounds. Therefore, help came in the form of a £46.3 million cash injection from Macquarie.
