An incredible end to the Australian Grand Prix in MotoGP! The winner of the eighteenth race of the season had to be decided at the finish line, with several riders fighting for the top spot. It was eventually won by Alex Rins on the Suzuki, but you can watch the grand finish again in this article.

Now that was grand indeed! The eighteenth round of this year’s MotoGP season – the Australian Grand Prix – wasn’t decided until the last twenty-seven laps.

Seven riders entered with a real chance of taking the first place, but after a hard and beautiful fight, it was finally captured by the Spaniard Rins and secured Suzuki’s first victory this season. The Japanese team, it should be noted, has bitten off at least one more small piece of glory before its departure from MotoGP.

In any case, you can watch the magnificent battle for the win for yourself in the videos below.

However, the main players in the battle for the top spot were Rins, Marc Márquez and Francesco Bagnaia, who also “stacked up” on the podium in that order.

It should be added that Rins started the Australian Grand Prix from tenth place, while Jorge Martin started the race from pole position and his Pramac was joined on the front row by Marc Márquez and Bagnaia.

Martin guarded his lead after the start and in the early laps, however he gradually dropped down the order as the Australian Grand Prix progressed. The twenty-four-year-old talented racer finished the eighteenth round of the season in seventh place.

In addition to Martin, Aleix Espargaro, who started from the second row, also fell down the order, finishing ninth.

Reigning champion Fabio Quartararo started from fifth place. However, the French rider for Yamaha showed his poor form in Australia and did not finish the race. And with his third place, the Italian Bagnaia moved into first place in the riders’ championship.

Historically, one of the best finishes

This spectacular finish also ensured that MotoGP once again broke its own record, with the second closest time gap of the top 10 riders at the finish of a Grand Prix in its history.

In fact, the riders in the elite ten were within less than six seconds, with the top seven even creeping within one second!
