So we have arrived, Barcelona fans may say. According to the latest information, young striker Vitor Roque (18) is expected to arrive in Catalonia on Wednesday, so that he can train fully under Barcelona coach Xavi Hernández in the coming days.
The previously announced transfer between Athletico Paranaense and FC Barcelona is expected to bring 30 million euros to the Brazilian team’s budget and nearly 26 million euros more in bonuses for performances, goals scored and related titles. The club will receive a further supplement of 5 million euros if the player reaches the top 3 in the Ballon d’Or poll in the following years.
The contract will run until the end of the 2030/31 season and will include an exit clause of €500 million. All indications are that Barcelona have big plans for the youngster, who has scored 12 goals this season.
Vitor Roque is considered a very talented player. In his native Brazil he is even compared to Ronaldo himself.
Like the legendary striker, he is also a Cruzeiro product. Moreover, he wore the number 9 jersey at his last club.
He played his last match for Athletico on 3 December against the famous Santos, who later were relegated from the Brazilian Serie A for the first time in their history.
In a match in which he came on as a substitute in the 83rd minute, he was able to say goodbye to his fans for the last time. They will surely miss the youngster who has entertained them with his talent for nearly 2 seasons.
Coach Xavi will thus have a considerable reinforcement in the attacking ranks. The young Brazilian stands out with his great technique and ability to cross players in 1v1 duels.
Fans and journalists alike are looking forward to seeing the player himself on the pitch alongside another Brazilian in the team, Raphinha.
