The Brazilian national team makes no secret of the fact that Carlo Ancelotti is their absolute number one favourite. The president of the federation, Ednaldo Rodrigues, has stated until when they will wait for the Real Madrid coach.
After the end of coach Tite with the Brazilian national team after the World Cup in Qatar, the federation has set a clear target – Carlo Ancelotti. And for several reasons.
He has a great relationship with Brazilian players, icons like Ronaldo Nazário and Kaká have directly recommended him to the federation, and current charges Vinícius, Rodrygo and Militao would also like him very much.
Moreover, he is a coach who does not stick so much to tactics, but he has been successful mainly because he creates a family atmosphere in the team and gives the players freedom, which is exactly what Brazilian attacking stars need.
Last but not least, he is a hugely successful coach with lots of titles and experience, and at the same time, thanks to his command of Spanish, there won’t be much of a language barrier, which was a requirement for the new national team coach.
Thus, the president of the federation, Ednaldo Rodrigues, recently confirmed the great interest in the Italian coach in an interview with Reuters. “Ancelotti is unanimously respected among the players. Everyone who has played under him stands behind him. Not just Ronaldo Nazário and Vinicius. I admire how he works and how stable he is. He doesn’t need to be introduced. His achievements speak for him.”
While Portugal, Belgium, Spain and Poland, who sacked their coach after the World Cup, already have replacements, Brazil are still waiting. And that’s only because of Ancelotti.
But at the same time, you can’t wait forever. President Ednaldo Rodrigues has set a deadline for the Canaries to wait for Ancelotti’s decision – May 25.
“We will do our best to have a clearer position on the next national coach within the next month, before the next national team meeting on May 25, ” said the top man of Brazilian football.
“We will only proceed to plan B when we know for sure that plan A is not working, ” Rodrigues added, saying he would try for Ancelotti at all costs.
The whole of Brazil wants an Italian coach on the Seleçao bench. “Wherever I go in Brazil, in every stadium, Ancelotti is the first name the fans ask me about. They speak very fondly of him,” Rodrigues has let his voice be heard before.
