After an excellent performance against Poland, the Czechs only drew in Moldova and received a well-deserved portion of criticism. Jakub Brabec was one of the few players who met the quality standard in both games. What was his feedback after the game?

The last national team meeting was indeed controversial. The Czechs handled Poland for the first time, put in an excellent performance and were deservedly praised everywhere.

Three days later, however, the situation is different, the selection of coach Jaroslav Šilhavy in Moldova only drew, and showed a really bad performance.

“The match clearly didn’t go as we expected. Its course proved that the teams are balanced, they can run and defend. We just couldn’t find a recipe for the Moldovans. Unfortunately, we were far from scoring a goal, ” Jakub Brabec told Sport.cz.

He was one of the best players of his team, together with his colleagues at stopper he did not let the opponent into many chances, although it can not be said that he had a lot of work.

“The match was so special, full of fights. I wouldn’t be surprised if the opponent gave us a stupid goal. We went all out, everybody worked hard and tried their best, even though it clearly didn’t work out for us football-wise. We simply didn’t have enough to win,” he added.

The fans are disappointed, although they would not have been happy with four points before this double header. But after Friday’s performance it is clear why there is currently disappointment in the public.

“At the start of the qualifiers we would have taken the four points after the first two games, but now we certainly don’t. Butthe important thing is to finish first or second in the group and qualify for the EURO,” Brabec said.
