Bowen destroyed the Brentford bees. Did he also get his manager a new contract?

Monday’s Premier League match between the West Ham and Brentford ended in victory for the home team Hammers. English striker Jarrod Bowen scored a hat-trick in the London derby.
Bowen scored a hat-trick against Brentford
West Ham and Brentford finished the 26th English Premier League round. Both teams went into the match with an unpleasant record from the last matches. The home Hammers have won only two points from their last five matches. Visiting Brentford weren’t much better off, with only one win from their last five games they dropped to the second half of the English top flight.
Brentford’s psychological advantage was at least the mutual record, which was very harsh for West Ham. They have only managed to win one single game out of their last five games together, and that was in the English FA Cup.
The game was very intense from the start. Already in the 7th minute David Moyes’ charges were leading 2:0, when the English striker Jarred Bowen scored twice and after the break he completed his hat-trick. Czech defender Vladimír Coufal also had a hand in Bowen’s hat-trick, assisting the second goal.
Italian winger Emerson added an insurance moment later, increasing the score to 4:1. In the 82nd minute, Congolese international Yoane Wissa made the equalizer. It was West Ham’s first win in nine games.
Soucek back in action after a one-match break
Tomáš Souček, the other Czech player, came on with Vladimír Coufal. The Hammers’ results have not been good recently and this also affected Tomáš Souček, who only watched the game against Nottingham from the bench.
He eventually got into the game, but only played eight minutes. The building block of the midfield returned to the starting line-up against Brentford, played the whole game and helped the team to an important victory.
The return of the Brazilian whizz-kid
Scottish coach David Moyes prepared a surprise for the fans in the form of the return of Lucas Paqueta. Although he didn’t score any goals in the stats, he helped the team to win with his play. He came on for Jamaican striker Antonio at the end.
Before the sacking, now a new contract?
In recent weeks, there has been quiet speculation about Moyes’ resignation as Hammers head coach, with spectators in particular putting more and more pressure and making it loudly known. However, the management have responded quite clearly with a new contract for the Scottish coach.
Before the game, Moyes had already stated that he had really enjoyed his four years at the London club so far, but would wait until after the season to decide on a new contract. David Moyes has been in the job since December 2019 and his current contract expires in June.
In the 2020/2021 season, he led West Ham to a record points total in the Premier League, with 65 points the London side finished in the final sixth place and qualified for the Europa League.
