Bouzkova has withdrawn from the next tournament. But she hasn’t wrapped up her season yet
A hand injury stopped Maria Bouzkova from a successful tennis year. The Wimbledon quarter-finalist has now had to postpone her return to the courts. But an early end to this season is out of the question. What tournament will Bouzkova appear in?
A hand injury stopped Maria Bouzkova from a successful tennis year. The Wimbledon quarter-finalist has now had to postpone her return to the courts. But an early end to this season is out of the question. What tournament will Bouzkova appear in?
During the first round of the US Open in a duel with Linda Noskova, Bouzkova suffered a hand injury due to a nasty fall. She finished her match then with the injury, but in the second round her health condition was significantly affected in her loss to Karolina Pliskova.
She has not played a single match since September. Twenty-four-year-old Bouzkova was registered for the five-hundred tournament in San Diego. But she had to withdraw from that as well.
But the winner of this year’s Livesport Prague Open does not want to end her season. She posted a post on social media in which she is preparing for the end of the season, which for her will be the popular 1000 tournament in Guadalajara, Mexico.
Bouzkova has been doing very well in Mexico in recent years. She reached the final of the 250 tournament in Guadalajara and played in the quarterfinals in Monterrey in March.
In addition, this year she has managed to reach the third round in Indian Wells, the eighth round in Madrid and the quarter-finals of the famous Wimbledon.
But the highlight came at the Livesport Prague Open, where she defeated all her opponents without losing a set and won her maiden WTA title. Thanks to this, she entered the elite 50 of the rankings and is currently ranked 41st.
