In the last 5 games in the Premier League Bournemouth have gained an incredible 13 points and have broken away from the bottom of the table. Moreover, the next draw is very favourable and we can expect a stretch of invincibility for the team led by Andoni Iraola.

Bournemouth’s start to the season

Bournemouth have not started the season well at all. Considering the fact that they have faced Liverpool, Chelsea, Tottenham or Brighton within the first six rounds, fans could largely expect it. Even so, after six rounds Bournemouth celebrated 3 points for draws with West Ham, Brentford and Brighton.

Even still, it was no glory. The expected loss to Arsenal didn’t seem to sway anyone, but losses to Everton or Wolves left no one cold. It was only in round 10 that the first win of the season came, a home win against Burnley (2:1). This game seemed to kick-start the whole team. In the following round, it was still a 6:1 debacle at Manchester City.

Bournemouth unbeaten

On Saturday, November 11, the spectators came to the match with Newcastle without any great expectations. The result? A 2:0 win, Dominic Solanke scored twice and the Magpies came away with nothing. Bournemouth’s next game was played on the pitch of Sheffield, who are not doing well at all this season and will very likely return to the Championship. A 3-1 win, this time Marcus Tavernier scored twice.

Two wins in a row were cut short only by a draw with Aston Villa, it was a very valuable point for Bournemouth, as Aston Villa are on the highest ranks of the whole Premier League. In the next game, Bournemouth’s form was taken away by Crystal Palace. The team around Solanke did not shy away from the big Old Trafford where they won 0: 3, Tavarnier scored 2 assists.

The last game that Bournemouth played was again aimed at scoring. Luton went ahead in the 3rd minute thanks to Elijah Adebayo, but in the 58th minute none other than Dominic Solanke equalised. Unfortunately the game was abandoned due to the collapse of visiting captain Tom Lockyer.

Bournemouth’s schedule

Before Christmas, the Cherries await the erratic Nottingham on an away ground. Moreover, the home team finds new motivation in the change of coach, so the match will be very difficult. Right after Christmas, Fulham awaits Bournemouth. Before the end of this calendar year, Bournemouth will travel to London to play Tottenham.

The team’s key player

The success of the whole team will depend on the form of one man, that man is Dominic Solanke. A player who has come through Liverpool or Chelsea is experiencing one of the best seasons of his life within the Premier League. He has scored a brilliant 9 goals in 17 games, to which he has added 1 assist.

The Englishman is still only 26 years old, hence a great season can bring him a transfer to one of the top not only English clubs. His contract at Bournemouth runs until the end of the 2026/27 season, which shows how much the club believes in him. It has to be said that they must believe in him as they sent over €21 million to Liverpool for him in 2019.
