Maxey broke the 50-point mark for the second time this season

In the Utah Jazz vs. Philadelphia 76ers (124:127), the visiting team had to do without the best scorer of the current season Joel Embiid. This season, that usually meant a defeat. However, in the last game, the Philadelphia team fought until the very end for the victory with a successful ending for the 76ers.

The hero of the game was the second best scorer of the Philadelphia team Tyrese Maxey. He broke the 50-point mark for the second time this season. He scored a total of 51 points and improved his personal best by one point, which he also set at the beginning of this season. Maxey was the perfect replacement for Embiid.

Maxey was joined by Tobias Harris with 28 points. On the Jazz side, Finn Lauri Markkanen was the top scorer with 28 points and Collin Sexton, who is finally part of Utah’s starting five, added 22 points. In a dramatic ending, however, Patrick Beverley’s three and Maxey’s basket with a few seconds left decided the game. Philadelphia notched its 30th win of the season, while the Jazz are 24-26 in the negative.

The Lakers got a valuable rebound

In the game Boston Celtics vs Los Angeles Lakers (105:114) the Lakers got a surprising victory. Boston fell to a weakened Lakers squad in their fortress where they are virtually undefeated. They were missing their biggest stars Anthony Davis and Lebron James.

The Lakers are not doing well on their opponents’ courts this season. And for the first time this season, they went into a game without both of their stars. Therefore, it was quite logical to expect a clear victory for the Celtics. But the opposite was true. Boston suffered only their 12th defeat of the season and third on their home floor.

However, the Lakers gave a very compact and team performance. Six players scored in double figures. Austin Reaves led the team with 32 points and Jaxson Hayes replaced Davis on the rebounding end with 10. D’Angelo Russsel supplied his teammates with assists, producing 14.

On Boston’s side, Jayson Tatum was the standout with 23 points, but Jaylen Brown was not at all successful. He scored just 8 points in 28 minutes on the floor. Ironically, the Lakers controlled the game practically from the end of the first quarter and already had a 14-point lead at halftime. They didn’t let the lead slip away and scored a very important win. With a record of 25-25, they are now in 9th place in the Western Conference.
