It wasn’t until the eleventh game of the new NHL season that Boston suffered its first defeat in regulation time. The Bruins fell to Detroit, Hronek had another assist to help Vancouver win and San Jose got ten goals for the second straight game with Hertl, Zadina and Rutta.

Nine wins and a single overtime loss to Anaheim. That has been the record so far for the Boston Bruins, who also rule the Eastern Conference.

It wasn’t until the eleventh game that the Bruins stopped. In the game against Detroit they started very well, Zacha won the puck, Pastrnak’s shot was not held by Husso and Van Riemsdyk knocked the puck into the net. 19-year-old Matthew Poitras increased the score to 2:0 for Boston.

The Red Wings tied it up after goals by Raymond and Walman, but Coyle put the Bruins back in front. But the third period brought a big upset for Detroit. Larkin, Perron and Copp turned the score from 2:3 to 5:3 in 3 and a half minutes.

Pastrňák moved into sixth place in NHL scoring with nine goals and seven assists. Only Larkin, Panarin, Bratt, Hughes and Petersson had more points.

The great Hronek and the horrible Sharks

Filip Hronek is in great form right now. His position as an elite defenseman in a Vancouver team that is on a roll suited him well and he contributed another assist to the win over Dallas.

It was his 11th assist of the season, only teammates Quinn Hughes (12) and Elias Petersson (14), Dylan Larkin and Artemi Panarin (12) and Jack Hughes from New Jersey (15) have more.

Those who are struggling, on the other hand, continue to be the San Jose Sharks. The team with three Czech players is the last NHL team waiting for a win, and they’re also getting a big payday.

Last time they got 1:10 from Vancouver, this time they improved by one goal scored, but again they conceded ten goals, this time from Pittsburgh. Tomas Hertl at least had two assists, while Filip Zadina and Jan Rutta just watched the 2:10 defeat. Radim Zohorna did not even register in the Penguins’ stats.
