Boca Juniors vs. Tigre: Preview and betting tips
European club football, or at least the top leagues, is now taking a break and the Nations League is being played instead. In Argentina, however, the schedule of that country’s top competition continues, and now Boca Juniors and Tigre will play each other.
European club football, or at least the top leagues, is now taking a break and the Nations League is being played instead. In Argentina, however, the schedule of that country’s top competition continues, and now Boca Juniors and Tigre will play each other.
Boca are in twelfth place with three points after two rounds of the league. A week ago they beat Arsenal Sarandí 2-1 with two goals in two minutes, then on Monday they fell 0-1 to Central Cordoba.
Tigre, on the other hand, is enjoying its start as a newcomer to the competition, having turned the tables on Union Santa Fe in the first round and won 2-1, before drawing Barracas Central 1-1. They are in a nice fourth place in the table and now they have their first real test.
The home side are standing on the goals of Darío Benedetto, the experienced striker netted twelve goals and assisted twice last season. Colombian winger Sebastián Villa, author of seven goals and eight assists, is also a mainstay.
Alexis Castro, a skilful central midfielder, has scored two goals and assisted two in the second league. Experience in the form of striker Pablo Magnino will also be needed among the elite, having scored five goals and assisted once last season.
Boca boast an excellent defence, conceding only three times in their last eleven games.
Moreover, Tigre are not doing well in away games, winning only two of their last seven matches on their opponents’ pitches.
Given the form of Boca’s defence, I think they will win.
