Sparta Prague lost 1:2 to Viking Stavanger in the rematch of the European Conference League, in a completely inexcusable manner. Sparta fans feel a great shame and have launched a massive and harsh criticism of their club on social media.

Everyone expected that this would not be an easy match. Sparta even led for a while in the game against Viking Stavanger when Jaroslav Zelený scored a header thanks to a great interplay.

However, the home team equalised the match when Viljar Vevatne hit a hard shot into the bottom left corner of the Spartan goal. In the second half, the Norwegian club was more dangerous than Sparta and created a good number of chances, but none of them resulted in a goal.

But in the setup came a huge mistake from David Hancock, who created a perfect chance for his opponent. And twenty-two-year-old Mai Traore converted it to send Stavanger into the next stage of the Conference League.

Spartan fans exploded after that moment and are now not sparing their club. On the official Twitter account, Sparta are being massively pilloried by their fans. And objectively it can be noted that the fans of the club from Letná are not to be surprised.

Reaction of Spartan fans

Yes, the fans of Sparta Prague have also come up with such suggestions. Some fans are demanding a change of coach after this match, even though Brian Priske has been in his position for a very short time. Dominik Jarábek adds in his commentary that “it’s a shame, like the last years all the time.”

However, there have also been much harsher statements from Sparta supporters on Twitter, such as this one.

Slow play with no ideas, players holding the ball for unnecessarily long, tragic attacking phase. And the final combination in the whitewash was beautiful.”

Of course, under the Prague club’s post, there were also opinions that not only Tomas Rosicky should resign from his position. But long-time Sparta fans who simply can’t take this anymore also added their observations.

I’m done, I don’t give a sh*t about this. When you get promoted somewhere, anywhere, you can call me. Maybe I’ll listen to you again sometime. I’m cancelling O2, I don’t need to watch a bunch of losers with no ideas. I’m 45 years old and I quit.”

It speaks for itself about the fans’ considerable frustration that not only several comments on Sparta’s Twitter account about returning the season tickets, but also about the fact that the A-team should refund them to all fans for such an embarrassment.

This is unreal. The season hasn’t even started yet and we’ve already managed to embarrass ourselves like a pig. Fuck me, this is unreal.”

Arsen fan then adds At least this year the feeling of excitement for change didn’t last so long. You guys saved me a lot of time watching all that useless p**ovin and reading interviews. Now it’s just two hours of misery a week. No expectations. Just out of inertia. Thanks and bye. Period.”

“Get the [bleep] out of here! From now on, I’m only going to Vltavín, you amateurs,” added Walter Sobchak. As we wrote above, Spartan fans are angry. And rightly so. It is no exaggeration to say that Sparta “took care” of a really big shame and the suffering of the Prague team is simply unbearable for its fans.

And now the club’s management will have to do its best to calm its fans down and repair its not a little tarnished reputation. And that’s before the season even starts.
