Jiří Procházka is the replacement for the title fight between Jan Blachowicz and Glover Teixeira. That means he has to prepare as if he will take part in the fight. He is preparing for both opponents and in case one of them drops out he would have a big advantage. What did he and his coach say about this?
On October 30 we will see Jan Blachowicz and Glover Teixeira fight for the welterweight title. The alternate for this fight is of course the Czech Jiri Prochazka.
He is preparing as if he is sure to fight one of his opponents. Such a chance should not be underestimated.
Now he has moved to Prague, specifically to Reinders MMA Gym, where he is preparing together with his coach Jaroslav Hovezak.
So how is he preparing for his possible opponents? “I don’t have an extreme strategy for one of them, I know that both of them are more power fighters, they are slower, they go to a lot of shootouts. I know their significant moves and combinations, I know their mistakes, I’ve got a sneak peek of their best stuff.
That’s information purely for me. Otherwise, we are focusing on eliminating my mistakes and developing my skills and abilities that we want to promote,” Procházka told Kaocko.
“It’s challenging, we’re preparing for two types. Blachowicz and Teixeira are preparing for themselves, they don’t expect Procházka to jump in, their role is a bit harder in this case,” added coach Hovezák.
