Big reinforcements for AS Roma? Lyon midfielder to be confirmed, Mourinho eyes two more Premier League stars

José Mourinho is already preparing AS Roma for the new season and it is no wonder that the Giallorossi are very active in the transfer market. Two very solid signings are reportedly set to be confirmed in the coming days, but the Portuguese coach also intends to bring in a Leicester star, for example.

AS Roma finished the last Serie A season with 63 points, sixth in the league table, one point behind fifth-placed Atalanta and seven points behind fourth-placed AC Milan. That is to say, in a position to secure participation in the Champions League.

However, it was in the elite four of the team that the Giallorossi were still a few rounds before the end of the season. But then they failed to make the final rounds of the Italian top competition, losing important points to Bologna, Salernitana and Monza, for example.

José Mourinho, however, has started a project in Rome that is definitely extra. Therefore, the Portuguese coach is already preparing his team for the upcoming edition, where he wants to take Roma a little higher again.

According to Italian media, the club’s management is expected to confirm two certain reinforcements in the coming days or weeks. The one is Houssem Aouar from Lyon, AS’s interest in the Lyon midfielder has been talked about before, whereupon the latter is supposed to be ready, at least according to Football Italia.

Although the 24-year-old central midfielder has only started 16 games this season and scored just one goal, the Lyon native has been limited by injuries throughout the season. In previous seasons, he had a record of 6+4 and 7+3.

Frankfurt’s Evan Ndicka is also expected to move to the Stadio Olimpico. Mourinho is counting on both players as free transfers as they are out of contract at their current employers.

Premier League reinforcements?

In addition to the two players mentioned above, Mourinho is also looking to the Premier League, where he has two targets in his sights for the summer transfer window. According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, the Portuguese coach is interested in Wilfried Zaha and Youri Tielemans.

Zaha is one of the candidates for the injured Tammy Abraham. This is not the first time Zaha has been linked with a possible transfer to the Stadio Olimpico. In any case, Mourinho is also interested in Mauro Icardi or Mbal Nzola.

The other potential reinforcement is Tielemans, according to Corriere dello Sport. The latter will probably leave England after Leicester’s relegation from the Premier League, moreover, his contract is expiring at his current place. He could become another AS free transfer, but AC Milan are also said to be working on his transfer.
