Maybe it’s just a game with American voters, but who knows. There is a lot of speculation in the US that Joe Biden and Donald Trump, the candidates for President of the United States, are going to duel it out on the golf course. Recent U.S. Open 2024 winner Bryson DeChambeau is challenging the current and former U.S. President to a big battle, which he would like to broadcast on his YouTube channel.

  • Donald Trump would take on Joe Biden in golf
  • Bryson DeChambeau wants to broadcast the fight on his YouTube channel
  • DeChambeau and Trump have a very good relationship

These ideas began circulating in the public sphere in late June, when Joe Biden and Donald Trump faced off in the first fiercely televised presidential debate. It was full of references to each other, including derisive remarks. Until suddenly the subject of golf came up.

Everything sort of went downhill after CNN anchor Dana Bash mentioned the ages of both candidates (Biden 81, Trump 78). She dwelled on the fact of how old they will be at the end of the next term. Trump quickly responded to this by boasting about his physical activity just on the golf course.

He said he had won two club championships: “Not senior, two proper club championships,” he added. “To do that, you have to be pretty smart and you have to be able to hit the ball a long distance. That’s what I can do. He can’t. He can’t hit the ball 50 yards,” Trump took a dig at the current head of state, whose words were quoted by the Mirror.

Biden understandably didn’t let these insinuations go unchallenged until an argument about golf handicap ensued. He said that when he was vice-president, he reached a handicap of 6. To which Trump responded that it was one big lie. There was also a challenge during the back and forth banter. Trump suggested they compare their golfing qualities on the course.

DeChambeau offered a live stream

It’s been more than a week since the heated televised debate, but discussions about a possible matchup between Biden and Trump have not ended. Recent U.S. Open winner Bryson DeChambeau also seized the opportunity. He made an interesting offer to both candidates.

“Let’s settle this whole handicap debate, I’ll host a golf match on my YouTube,” DeChambeau wrote on his social networking account X. He has been meticulously tending to his YouTube channel lately, hitting the 822,000 subscriber mark. Moreover, his popularity has skyrocketed since winning the U.S. Open.

DeChambeau has made no secret of the fact that he has a good relationship with former President Donald Trump. They even played together on the same course in 2022, in an exhibition before a tournament in one of the LIV Golf series, which was held on Donald Trump’s course.

In addition, DeChambeau was recently spotted drinking wine with Trump’s son, Eric, together from the U.S. Open winner’s trophy. The current candidate himself on his Truth Social network generously congratulated the winner of the major tournament, writing.

So far, it looks unlikely that a duel on the golf course between Joe Biden and Donald Trump will happen. But in the event that it does happen, the vast majority of fans believe Trump, according to all public polls.
