The best MMA organization on the planet? The vast majority of combat sports fans will answer UFC without any further thought. However, the head of Asian brand ONE Championship believes that the American giant is not that attractive.
The best MMA organization on the planet? The vast majority of combat sports fans will answer UFC without any further thought. However, the head of Asian brand ONE Championship believes that the American giant is not that attractive.
The UFC is seen as the biggest and best organization in the MMA world. In fact, it’s not even discussed that perhaps anyone can compete with this brand. Then in the background there are organizations like Bellator, ONE Championship, Rizin or KSW.
With ONE Championship in particular looking to continually increase its potential and size. It is a huge brand in the eastern market. What the UFC is to the western world, ONE is to the eastern world.
At least that’s according to the head of the Asian organization, Chatri Sityodtong, who compared ONE to the UFC during his brand’s last tournament and made it clear where and why the Asian organization is bigger.
First and foremost, he singled out the huge appeal of the fights in ONE Championship. He also mentioned that while only around 38% of fights are finished before the limit in the UFC, that number is around 70% in the Asian organization.
Sityodtong also hopes that one day we will see a tournament in which the champions of both organizations measure their strength. He believes that ONE boasts better fighters than who are in the UFC. He says he otherwise has tremendous respect for the UFC.
“So which organization is more interesting? I think we should let the fans around the world have their say,” the ONE Championship boss concluded the topic.
It’s worth noting that the Asian organization’s tournaments are truly unique. We can see grappling, muay-thai and MMA fights in one gala, which is an absolutely perfect package for a true combat sports lover.
